Comments:
Early call to be on schedule for the arrival in Jakarta. The Swedish Ship Götheborg is going by engine and more and more boats come to escort her. In the harbour an eight round salute is fired and then the ship moores without tug assistance and according to schedule. Then the captain and supercargo go ashore to be officially welcomed on the quay by the Governor of Jakarta and the Swedish Ambassador. The official programme is running according to plan and the first VIP guests arrive over the gangway to a tour of the ship and refreshments on sundeck, being welcomed by the crew of the East Indiaman. This afternoon there is “Open ship" for everyone interested.
