Comments:
Planned excursion with a speedboat to the islands outside Jakarta where the East Indiamen had an overhaul of their hulls in the olden days. 12 people were to be seated in the boat, but that was changed to 8. This also was making the long and slender, canoe-like boat with an outboard motor rather unstable and difficult to handle, above all with the seas coming in from the side. Nobody wanted to end up in the dirty water off Jakarta, so 4 voluntarily left the boat in Sunda Kelapa and four went on. A more stable, but wet crossing. Interesting islands, full of ruins and inhabited by fishermen, but with the beaches full of rubbish. Tour home with splashing seas and thoroughly wet clothes.
