Comments: First 24 hours at sea. A few cases of sea-sickness. Weather and wind are favouring us, the wind has turned, enabling us to follow our plan - going south for a few latitudes, then on an easterly course. And the best direction of the wind seems to continue for a few days.

Our diver succeeded in cutting the line that got stuck in port propeller during the night. At the same time he could see that the bottom of the ship looked rather clean. This means we can make good speed under fair winds.

It is Sunday and time for entertainment, this time provided by starboard watch. We are all eagerly awaiting the evening.

We hade a good farewell in Port Elizabeth. Here the previous deputy Mayor Ndoni gives a speech.
We are about to sail off and leave South Africa behind us.
Many spectators had gathered along the quay to say goodbye to the ship.
