Dinner: The “Götheborg" Christmas dinner

Morning and most of the day we were preparing our Christmas celebrations. Gifts were wrapped and rhymes made. In the kitchen everybody was busy and our Christmas dinner was made ready with exact precision. A last minute check was made and everything was now ready for a perfect Christmas Eve. A couple of hours after lunch we anchored off the main island in the Brazilian group of islands Fernando do Noronha. We were shown our anchorage by a local escort boat to the northwest of the island. After that everybody took a bath in the warm water and the crew in general took the opportunity to rest. At half past five we started on our Christmas dinner, which was sweating as profusely as the guests. It was extremely appreciated and vanished accordingly, as did the accompanying mulled wine. The festivities were closed by our Santa Claus who had eagerly waited for his turn and the distribution of the contents of his big sack. Having carried out his task, Santa informed that he was very pleased with his stay on board and said that he would definitely like to pay the Swedish Ship “Götheborg" another visit. A Merry Christmas to all and everyone from the crew of the “Götheborg"!
