On Christmas Day the “Götheborg" is still at anchor off the main island of Fernando do Noronha. In spite of this being a holiday work on board has been rather intense, the programme including tarring of the hull. Afternoon was a bit less intense and everybody so wishing could take a bath in the sea. During the day we also have received a fellow visitor, the cruise-ship “Pacific". The ship´s boats and various local boats have shuttled all the guests ashore. A few of the boats also took a turn around the East Indiaman and we have received a great number of admiring looks and shouts. Not least from some Swedes who had also taken the opportunity to visit her when she was in Stockholm this summer. One could imagine the reaction seeing our beautiful ship at anchor off this exotic island. Not a very common sight. Every now and then we are also visited by dolphins. The species is “Stella longirostris" and in English they are called “rotifer". That is because they rotate their body when making a jump up from the water. At some instances they have made jumps that could make any human diver green with envy. We are hoping for more visits, preferably with high jumps against the setting sun. What a picture!
