Today´s catch: a dorado of 6 kilos
Proud angler: the captain
Lunch: Cod with lobster sauce and rice
Dinner: BBQ beef with sliced potatoes and a red wine gravy
Saturday came with nice weather and we hope it will stay with us for at least a couple of weeks. On the other hand we could have used some more wind to help up our average speed. The day has been very much a repetition of yesterday...
The major sailing event was that one more of our studding sails was put in place. This time is the starboard fore studding sail that has taken its position. The work on the next studding sail goes on without interruption.
Nature today also showed itself. Schools of rather small flying fish have jumped around the bows but so far none has landed on the deck. Our captain caught the biggest fish so far on the journey, a really beautiful dorado of some 6 kilos. It was goldish yellow with big green, lovely fins. And for a finale, at sundown we could see a black manta, or devil ray, make some jumps at the surface. It had perhaps been scared by some other animal but it could also be that it wanted a closer look on the East Indiaman in all its splendour, studding sails included, instead of being satisfied with just studying the bottom of the ship.
