Time to go back to Scandinavia for many of our students. Big farewell and hugging on the quay until a somewhat belated bus arrived to transport them to the airport. Some ten students have however chosen to stay in Brazil for a few days of vacation and remain on board a day or two more. Our Brazilian students and those students who know Portuguese also stay on, to assist in guiding and taking care of visitors during the port-call.

In the morning and afternoon we have been visited by school classes from the town. All in all they were a few hundred coming on board. Just like yesterday it was SKF and the town of Recife that had arranged this visit and it was much appreciated by the children.

The “Götheborg" has also received several VIP visits from various quarters today, from the Chairman of the Board of SKF to the high command of the state military and the harbour-master of Recife. All came with entourages of varied size and age. It was a visit well appreciated by young and old alike. The evening was closed with a reception hosted by SKF. More than 150 persons were treated to Scandinavian snacks, a nice get-together and an acrobatic show in the rigging, directed by one of our students. Another busy and eventful day in Recife has come to its end.
