From the logbook
Only 66 nautical miles made during last 24 hours. Due to rough seas we cannot sail directly for our goal, but are forced to beat by motor, against wind and seaway, which obviously implies slow-going towards the inlet of Gulf of Suez.

Comments
Because of the rough seas, the starboard foresail outrigger broke yesterday when hit by a great wave. It snapped just like a match, in spite of the fact that it is thick and massive. That however will not effect our schedule. Repairs are carried out today. The seasickness has passed now, crew is getting used, a lot of seaway notwithstanding.
