From the logbook: Pilot on board yesterday at 1753. 1853 well mored to a little buoy in a small cove at the outskirts of Hong Kong. Immigration authorities on board during the evening.

Comments: During our passage in towards Hong Kong is was hazy and the steep hills of the Hong Kong islands were vaguely visible in the twilight. Eventually a skyscraper appeared in the dusk among the islands and the light from the city started to shine. It was a mighty feeling, closing in on Hong Kong this way. All day the ship has been polished. The ouside being oiled, wooden details painted and there is cleaning going on everywhere. All to make the ship look its best tomorrow as we, according to plan, moor at 1200 in the city.
