Comments:
It is getting increasingly hotter. The wind slackened yesterday afternoon and night and we are now gliding along at sligthly more than 2 knots. There is an advantage in this slow speed; water and other samples are easily collected by our scientists. Yesterday afternoon a big tanker was spotted at a distance. Air conditioners have been installed in the crew´s quarters. In spite of this, many are affected by the heat, having problems to sleep at night. But all in all, the health situation is excellent. According to the chart we are now halfway between Fremantle and Christmas Island.
