Comments:
Today, for the first time on the voyage between Africa and Australia, a topgallant sail was set. Both topgallant yards had been stowed on the deck since we were expecting winds strong enough to render the topgallant sails superfluous. But gentle winds during the last few days made them useful again.

Today´s lecture told us all about the production of goat´s cheese. It appears that life is a bit simpler for a goat farmer than for a diary farmer, since the goats go dry during the two darkest months of the year. Then the goat farmer may take a much needed vacation, at least from the milking and curdling. We certainly receive a lot of new education on board the Swedish Ship Götheborg!

It takes a lot of work to sail a 18th century wooden ship.
