Comments:
We are now getting increasingly close to the Australian continent. In view of the weather forecast for the next few days we expect to anchor Sunday of Monday at the latest, that is in 4-5 days.
We have reserve provisions on board, but these are either deep frozen or freeze-dried and no substitute for fresh food. Now we have another go of rationing - two sacks of flour had to be discarded so newly baked bread will no longer be available around the clock as before. Now it will be at breakfast only and at other times hungry people will have to make do with crispbread.
The interest of the deck-hands to continue on board is manifest but today it looks as if all positions as deck-hand are filled with new people arriving from Sweden, Indonesia and China. Also another TV team, from Indonesia, is to join us in Fremantle.
Today´s entertainment was a slide show from the building of the Swedish Ship Götheborg. Our ship´s carpenter, who was there almost from the start of the construction, had documented in pictures how the hull was rising, more and more, and how the inside was fitted after the launching. The slide show was closed with some suggestive autumn pictures from Gothenburg when our ship left for the journey we are now reporting from.
