Comments:

Yesterday it was dolphins, today a flock of sperm whales was spotted at about200 metresdistance. Weather has also been fine today, long pants and jumpers are off, summer clothes on. Also the cameras have been taken forth, there is a clicking all around the deck. And it is now 20 degrees C in the water! But there might be a shower in the afternoon.

Navigation with old instruments continues. The traverse-board is up, compass course and the speed logged are marked every half hour and then used after four hours to calculate the position. Also the leeway can be measured by calculating it from the difference between the wake and the intended direction. We shall see how it corresponds with more modern methods.

In spite of the wind slackening, we sometimes reach 5 knots. At noon today we are less than 200 nm from Fremantle. That is about the same distance as between Oslo and Gothenburg. More and more we believe that we shall anchor come Sunday.
