Comments:
Today starboard watch and anyone else off duty went to Garden Island, the island we have anchored behind. There was bathing from the beach, football, scuba-diving, strolling to the outside of the island etc. One of the scuba-divers saw a big ray and a smaller one, perhaps1 metreacross, was seen even from the beach. A big sign on the island warned of “tiger snakes" and another one, north of the beach, of “explosives". The ship´s boats were out sailing and were warned to keep away from that area. A few hundred metres to the north a submarine was taking in bunker.
On the Swedish Ship Götheborg maintenance work is almost finished and everyone is looking forward to the planned barbecue. In spite of the fact that we are som close to land, nobody seems to have any stronger urge to go ashore. We are so well off on board, so why trade? But tomorrow we will sail around1000 a .m., to get company from another square-rigger. But more about that tomorrow.
