Comments:
In the afternoon yesterday we sighted another ship, the first one since we left Port Elizabeth. She came from south and passed our stern at a distance of about 1 nm. She looked like some patrol ship or possibly a trawler. It is strange that such an everyday thing can arouse such interest - everyone who had the chance were crowding the aft and binoculars were used everywhere.

The carpenter work on board the Swedish Ship Götheborg has produced enough fiddle woodwork for all bunks. Now it is only to locate them. We found seven and an additional three were installed in the aft cabins. It looks as if at least ten deckhands are to utilize their new knowledge of sailmaking and sew their own fiddles.

Important news for everyone on board: for a few days no printer has been working properly but now the problems are solved. Also our IT guru has started up all the deckhand computers that have been down for various reasons. So now we are fully digitalized again. But we have to go easy on the printing. There are six of them on board, of various types, but our supply of toners is unfortunately very limited.

The images below can be viewed in a larger size by clicking on them.
Sails and rigging are continously checked on board the ship.
