Inaugurating one of Europe’s Largest Marine Festivals

It has now been decided that The Swedish Ship Götheborg will visit the French marine Festival “Fetes Maritimes de Brest” in July this year. The event is organized every four years and is one of largest marine festivals in Europe.

The ship will arrive to Brest on July 13th and will departure to Bremerhaven in Germany on July 19th.

“It is a great honor for us that the Swedish Ship Götheborg has been chosen to inaugurate this festival and it also shows that the The Swedish Ship Götheborg stands out in the competition from other ships” Says Emanuel Persson, Expedition Director at The Swedish East India Company.

Once in Brest the ship will participate in a play about the French explorer and naval officer, Jean Francoise de Laperouse’s departure for his expedition at the Pacific Ocean in the18th century.
