Göta Älv

This summer Götheborg to become the largest sailing ship that has ever sailed on Lake Vänern. Do not miss seeing the ship’s historical journey through the river Göta Älv!

The river Göta Älv – from Gothenburg to Lake Vänern
Vänern Tour begins on the 30th of June, at 05:00 a.m., then the Swedish Ship Götheborg leaves the Frihamnen in Gothenburg. The journey then goes up the river and the ship is expected to pass through the lock at Lilla Edet at 01:00 p.m.

At 06:00 p.m. we arrive at Gamle Dal in the lock area by Trollhättan and stay overnight. On the 1th of July, we depart from Trollhattan at 09:00 a.m. and then anchor at Vassbotten outside of Vänersborg 12:00 p.m., where we are located 1th to 2nd of July to rig up the ship again, after the passage through the river Göta Älv.

On the 3rd of July the Swedish Ship Götheborg arrives to Vänersborg, which is the first port stop in Vänern Tour.

On the 21th of July, we cast off from Åmål, which is the last port stop in Vänern Tour. Next, we’ll rig the ship down before the passage through the river Göta Älv. For more information about the ship’s journey through the river Göta Älv to Gothenburg will be here shortly.

05 am – Depart from Frihamnen in Gothenburg
01 pm – Pass through the lock by Lilla Edet
06 pm – Stay overnight at Gamle Dal by Trollhättan

1 July
09 am – Depart from Gamle Dal
12 – Anchor by Vassbotten outside of Vänersborg

3 July
Arrive to Vänersborg
