Vänersborg | 3 – 5 July

On the 3rd of July the Swedish Ship Götheborg arrives to Vänersborg, which will be the first stop over in Vänern Tour. The ship will be in Vänersborg for three days and the quay turnes into an event area with exhibitions, concerts and crafts.

Vänersborg is the regional capital of the southern tip of Lake Vänern, where shipping has always been of importance, as the city is situated between Sweden’s largest lake and the port city of Gothenburg via the Gota River. It is a historic county town.

The Swedish Ship Götheborg arrives to Vänersborg at 5 pm on the 3rd of July. The arrival ceremony, including a cannon salute, interview with the captain and shanty singing, starts at 4.30 pm.

On the quay, there will be exhibitions of the Swedish East India trade in our historical exhibition and a photo exhibition with great photos from the ships’ expeditions worldwide.

On 4 and 5 July, the ship open will be open for the public. Welcome aboard to the smell of tar and wood, of adventure and sea. Talk to the crew who can tell you about life on board.
