This year, the Swedish Ship Götheborg has been invited to Den Helder to promote next year’s great festivities when the Dutch navy celebrates its 525th jubilee and that the Netherlands Navy was granted the title “Royal” 200 years ago, when the Netherlands became a Kingdom in 1813. The ship will be at the fore of the major maritime festivities, and this year it will serve as a marketing platform for the event.
The ship will arrive at Den Helder on 5 July 2012 at 13:00 and later that afternoon the ship will open up for public. It will also be present at the naming of a new Dutch military vessel, at a ceremony attended by dignitaries from the Netherlands and ambassadors from around the world.
On Saturday 7 July the Navy Days event will commence in Den Heder, and once again the Swedish Ship Götheborg will be open to the public. Departure is scheduled for the evening of Saturday 7 July.
