Kristinehamn is the second stop over for the Swedish Ship Götheborg during Vänern Tour. This ship will stay here between the 7th to the 9th July. The quay turnes into an event area with exhibitions, concerts and crafts.
Kristinehamn is Lake Vänerns’ most north-easterly port and Sweden’s easternmost located west coast port. Kristinehamns’ biggest “celebrity” is the Picasso sculpture, which is one of Picasso’s monumental works.
The Swedish Ship Götheborg arrives to Kristinehamn at 1 pm on July 7th. The arrival ceremony, including a cannon salute, interview with the captain and shanty singing, starts at 1 pm.
On the quay, there will be exhibitions of the Swedish East India trade in our historical exhibition and a photo exhibition with stunning images from the ships’ expeditions worldwide.
The ship will be open for the public on the 7th, 8th and 9 of July. Welcome aboard to the smell of tar and wood, of adventure and sea. Talk to the crew who can tell you about life on board.
On the 9th of July at 9 pm the Swedish Ship Götheborg depart from Kristinehamn, and set course for Lidköping to continue the journey of Vänern Tour. The departure from Kristinehamn is delayed, due to a minor problem with the engine. The problem will be repaired during the evening.Therefore the Swedish Ship Götheborg will stay in Kristinehamn overnight and depart tomorrow. The new time for departure is planned to 11.00, July 10th. With reservation for changes.
