Brigantine BoatworksThe Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI) began construction of two 90 foot brigantines in January, 2000. The project is currently underway at the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in John Gibson Park, San Pedro, California. Information om Vasamuseet och skeppet Vasa! Det tidiga 1600-talet var en tid då Sverige expanderade i Östersjöområdet. En grundsten i imperiebyggandet var en slagkraftig flotta. Under 1620-talet var Sverige i krig med Polen, och 1625 beställde den svenske kungen Gustav II Adolf nya skepp. Ett av dem fick namnet Vasa.
