All ships have to be looked after, particularly wooden ships. Working weekends are arranged several times a year, for example when the rigging is assembled and dismantled. Helping out on a working weekend is an excellent way of getting to know the ship and sharing the experiences of those who have been working on her for many years. It is also a good way of acquiring merits for upcoming voyages. The work is extremely varied and can entail anything from tarring the ropes to working in the rigging and helping down in the galley. The work hours on these weekends are Saturday 8:00-17:00 and Sunday 8:00-15:00.

In addition to the working weekends, you can also come to Eriksberg and work as a volunteer. This way you get to lend a hand with what we’re doing that day, which could be anything from checking over the blocks, tarring ropes, painting on board or helping with machinery.
Volunteers can come and work with us Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:00 and Fridays 08:00-14:00. We provide lunch and work clothes (except footwear). To register, call Marie-Louise Edholm the day before on 0736-97 92 11.
